I’m really excited to show you how to make these stunning rose bouquet cupcakes.
They will make a beautiful addition to any tea party, baby shower, bridal shower, mother’s day brunch or Easter celebration. Perfect for spring, these flower cupcakes will leave your guests in awe.
And yes! They’re easy to make. Especially once you see my video. I went through all the trials and errors so you don’t have to!
Rose Bouquet Cupcakes Instructions
You will need these Air Air Head Xtremes sour candies for the flowers, a pizza cutter, and toothpicks. One pack of candy made only 2 bouquet cupcakes, so plan accordingly.
Watch this video to learn how to make the rose flowers. I do have the written instructions below but the video is worth 1000 words.
Make the candy rose
- Take a pizza cutter and cut right along the blue edge of the candy stripe. Take the red, orange yellow strip and cut that in half.
- Keep the green and blue strip – we’ll need it later for the leaves.
- Now take ½ of the red/orange/yellow strip and remove some of the sugar and stretch it a bit. This will help the flower to not unravel later.
- With the red edge up, you’re going to start rolling the candy, then twist, roll, twist again.
- Now you want to wrap the edge over the bottom of the flower and insert a toothpick through the middle.
While you’re inserting your toothpick, go ahead and squeeze your flower a little so it sticks better.
You may want to cut your toothpick in ½ and insert it in your cupcake.
You’ll need 19 flowers to finish one cupcake. One in the middle, 6 around it, and 12 around the edges.
For the flowers at the edge you’ll want to make a leaf.
Cut the leaf from the green and blue strip. Just cut a triangle from the edge with your pizza cutter.
Now make the last flower with the same process as before and carefully insert the leaf on the toothpick and place it in the cupcake with the leaf facing out.
To finish it off, wrap it in this cute matching cupcake wrapper from my Tea Party Printables.
