1- Diaper Fashion

Materials Needed: diapers

How to Play: 

After the arrival of a new baby, parents can feel like they are drowning in diapers. This favorite baby game shower game is just as much fun for the baby shower guests as it is for the mom-to-be. 

Each player will need access to lots of diapers. They will be challenged to attach as many diapers to themselves as possible within an allotted time. How and where they attach these diapers is up to the player! The guest with the most diapers attached at the end wins. 


2- Balloon Baby Twister (Big Belly)

Hilarious to watch – Great for medium groups – Great for co-ed showers

Materials Needed: t-shirts, balloons, Twister mat, Twister spinner

How to Play:

Each player will need one balloon (one baby) or two balloons (twins) and a t-shirt if they are wearing clothing that cannot conceal a balloon. The balloon goes under the shirt, and then, a hilarious game of Twister begins. Players are welcome to steal or pop their competitors’ fallen balloons. Awards can be given for most balloons, most twisted pose, or who lasted the longest. Of course, the guest of honor­—the new mom­—gets to be the judge. 


3- Tie Your Shoes

Materials Needed: balloons

How to Play:

This baby shower activity is especially great for co-ed showers. Pick several men to put balloons in their shirts. The balloon cannot slip out, pop, or shift to the side as they attempt to tie their shoes. The first person to complete the task gets a prize. 


4- Rock A Bye Baby

Active/competitive – Great for large groups – Great for co-ed showers – Teams of three

Materials Needed: baby pajamas, plastic baby figurines, buckets

How to Play:

Have guests split up into groups of three. Give each team a container of plastic baby figurines, one pair of baby pajamas, and a bucket. Place the buckets several feet away from each team. The goal is for each team to slingshot as many babies into their bucket as possible within the time limit. 


5- Pacifier Toss

Active/competitive – Great for medium groups – Partner game

Materials Needed: pacifiers, chopsticks

How to Play:

First, have all party guests pick a teammate. Each team needs one chopstick and five or more pacifiers. The number of pacifiers is up to you, so long as each team has the same number. Arrange everyone in a line, with partners standing across from each other. 

Once given the go-ahead, one member of each team will toss the pacifier, and the other member will attempt to catch them on their chopstick. Pacifiers that are dropped can be returned to the tossing player to try again. You get to decide how the game ends. Either set a timer or have them play until the first team catches all the pacifiers. 


6- Don’t Drop the (Egg) Baby

Active/competitive – Great for medium-to-large groups – Best played outside

Materials Needed: eggs (hard boiled), crayons, food coloring, paints, plastic spoons

How to Play:

Invite guests to decorate an egg so that it looks like a baby. Then, give each guest a plastic spoon, which can be held between the teeth or by hand. They will then have to race with the egg balanced on the spoon. The race can be a simple point-to-point setup or include an obstacle course or relay.


7- Diaper Change Relay Race

Active/competitive – Great for medium-to-large groups – Team game

Materials Needed: baby dolls, diapers, baby wipes, blankets

How to Play:

Have the guests form multiple groups with at least five people per team. Every team needs the same number of people or someone can change the diaper more than once. 

Each team should have one baby doll wearing a diaper wrapped in a blanket. Once the game begins, each person will remove the blanket and diaper, clean the doll’s bottom with a wipe, put a new diaper on, and wrap the baby in the blanket. The baby is then handed to the next person in line who will repeat the steps. A team wins when everyone has changed the diaper. 


8- Blind Blocking

Active/competitive – Minute to win it – Great for small-to-medium groups 

Materials Needed: blindfold, multiple sets of alphabet blocks

How to Play:

Give each player a blindfold and an equal number of blocks. Each player’s objective is to build a tower as high as they can while blindfolded within the allotted time. 


9- Diaper Towers

Materials Needed: Diapers

How to Play:

See who can stack the tallest diaper tower. Guests can take turns stacking a tower of diapers. The tower must stand on its own. Count the number of diapers as it is stacked. As soon as the tower falls, the next person is up and tries to beat the diaper record.

10- Supermom in Training

Active/competitive – Great for medium groups – Hilarious to watch

Materials Needed: phones, socks, baby doll, diaper

How to Play:

This game is a lot of fun for the audience and especially the new parents. Each competitor will attempt to be “supermom” by holding a phone between their ear and shoulder, sorting socks into matching piles, and then changing the baby doll’s diaper. The person who completes the task the fastest wins. 


11- Tinkle in the Pot

Materials Needed: jars, balloons, quarters

How to Play:

This fun baby shower game is a humorous nod to the pregnant mother’s need to pee every thirty seconds. This game can be played in a relay format or with individual players. Contestants will place a balloon under their shirt and carry a quarter between their knees, which they will then drop into their assigned jar. The first person or team to make all of their “potty runs” wins. To add a wet spin, this game can also be played outdoors with water balloons. 


12- Blindfolded Diaper Changing

Materials Needed: diapers, Nutella or peanut butter, baby dolls, wipes, blindfolds

How to Play:

Before the beginning of the baby shower, put Nutella or peanut butter in baby diapers and put the diapers on baby dolls. Give players a blindfold. The first person to change the dirty diaper wins. 


13- Place the Baby on the Mommy

Materials Needed: Poster of mom-to-be, baby photos, blindfold, pins, pens

How to Play:

Here’s a fun twist on the classic game, pin the tail on the donkey. Print out a large photo of the expecting mom and hang it on a wall. Have party guests write their names on a baby photo and then line up to place the baby on the mom one at a time. Spin each player a few times and then let them make their best guess as to where the baby should be pinned. The closest guess wins. 


14- Baby Bottle Chugging Contest

Materials Needed: baby bottles, beverages

How to Play:

Each contestant is given a baby bottle full of liquid. As the baby shower hostess, you can decide if everyone gets the same drink or if they will be allowed to choose their beverage, which, depending on their choice, could give certain competitors a leg up. The object of the game is to empty the bottle before the other chuggers. 


15- Pacifier Grab

Materials Needed: a bunch of pacifiers, chopsticks

How to Play:

Place all the pacifiers loose on the table, choose 2 players and give them each a chopstick to hold in their mouth. The contestants then race to thread as many pacifiers as they can on their chopstick in one minute.



16- Feed the Baby

Materials Needed: blindfolds, applesauce, baby spoons, (maybe bibs)

How to Play:

Warning, this unique baby shower game can get messy! Have everyone pick a partner. Give each team a jar of sauce, one baby spoons, and one blindfold. The goal of the game is to eat the apple sauce as fast as possible, but here is the twist. One player is feeding the other while blindfolded. The game ends when the first team finishes the baby food. 


17- Relay Race

Active/competitive – Great for medium-to-large groups – Team game

Materials Needed: depends on your design

How to Play:

This game comes with a lot of room for creativity and personalization. Design a relay race incorporating baby items and activities like changing a diaper, filling a bottle with formula, or pushing a stroller. Then, pick a starting line and a finish line. 


18- Baby Food Tasting

Materials Needed: jars of baby food, spoons, paper, pens

How to Play:

It’s time to taste baby food! Have party guests split up into groups of two. One person will be the eater, while the other is the feeder. The feeder will write down the guesses of the eater on a sheet of paper. After the eaters have tried all of the baby food, the answers can be checked. The team with the most correct answers wins. 


19- Hot Baby

Active/competitive – Includes all baby shower guests

Materials Needed: two baby dolls, music

How to Play:

How does a classic game of hot potato with a baby shower spin sound? Have shower guests sit in a circle. Give the dolls to two players and start the music. The dolls should be passed around as long as the music goes. Stop the music, and the person left with the baby is out. Play until you have only two players. The last round is played with one baby doll. 


20- Don’t Cry Over Spilt Milk

Active/competitive – Great for small-to-medium groups – Great for co-ed showers – Relay

Materials Needed: small cups, milk, carafes 

How to Play:

Before playing the game, you’ll want to mark fill lines on your empty carafes. These containers should then be placed 15 to 20 feet from the starting line, where the milk jugs and cups will be placed. 

When it’s time to play, have your party guests break up into several equally sized teams and line up behind a milk jug. Players will be tasked with transferring the milk from the jug to the carafe one at a time using the small cup. The first team to fill the carafe past the fill line or the team closest to the fill line when the timer runs out wins. 

Because of the potential mess, this game is best played outside.


21- Find the Babies

Materials Needed: plastic baby figurines

How to Play:

Stash baby figurines around the house or yard prior to the shower. Split guests into two teams and have them collect as many babies as they can in one minute. The team with the most wins. This game is funny because guests will likely notice the babies prior to the game and won’t know their purpose until playing the game. 


22- Mom’s Fashion Line

Materials Needed: toilet paper, balloons

How to Play:

This easy DIY shower game is a great way to get guests interacting and having fun. Split the party into three groups and equip each of them with several rolls of toilet paper and one balloon. The team members will have to designate one person the pregnant model who will have an inflated balloon under her shirt. The teams will then have a set time to fashion an outfit out of TP. For added fun, put on a fashion show for the mom-to-be. 

The prize goes to the team with the best outfit. Not sure what prizes to get? For this game, consider giving the team members each a raffle ticket which qualifies them to win a prize, like a gift card, at the end of the shower. 


23- Conjoined Diaper Change

Materials Needed: baby dolls, baby powder, cloth diapers, diaper pins

How to Play:

Partners will be tasked with holding each other’s hands while changing a baby’s diaper. Teamwork, speed, and precision will be required in order for each team to remove the diaper, apply baby powder, put the cloth diaper on, and secure it with a diaper pin. Remember not to stab the baby! The first team to do all of this successfully wins. 


24- Matchmaker

Active/competitive – Great for small-to-medium groups – Team game

Materials Needed: baby clothes

How to Play:

The expectant parents have a lot of laundry in their future! Help them get a head start by sifting through baby clothes to find matches and outfits. Teams will be given a laundry basket full of baby clothes. They will have a set amount of time to pull out as many complete outfits (including socks, mittens, and hats). To add a competitive twist, place one to two items in the wrong baskets so that baby items have to be retrieved from other teams in order to complete outfits. 



25- Don’t Wake the Baby

Hilarious to watch – Race – Great for small-to-medium groups

Materials Needed: baby rattles, tape

How to Play:

Shhh! In this game, players must race to the finish line without making a peep. The catch is they will have a rattle taped to their knee. To increase the challenge, use more than one rattle per player. If a player makes a noise, they have to go back to the starting line. The first one to silently cross the finish line wins. 


26- Get all the Boogies

Hilarious to watch – Race – Minute to win it

Materials Needed: mini marshmallows, baby nasal aspirators, bowls, tissues

How to Play:

Players will have one minute to transfer mini marshmallows out of a bowl onto a tissue using a baby nasal aspirator. The player with the most “boogies” retrieved wins. 


27- Picture This

Active/competitive – Great for co-ed showers – Team game

Materials Needed: index cards, large white board or large drawing pad, markers

How to Play:

Before the baby shower, create cards that state baby-related terms or baby items. These can include “pacifier,” “changing baby,” “burping baby,” “mixing formula” and more. Depending on how long you want the game to last, you will likely want to make at least 20 cards. 

At the baby shower, split the guests into two teams. Each team chooses an artist who picks up a card and tries to get their team to guess what they are drawing. When the time runs out, if their team can’t guess, the opposite team can steal the point.


28- Wipe out

Materials Needed: one box of wipes or tissues per participant

How to Play:

Each contestant gets a box of wipes or tissues and have to empty it one by one using only one hand. The first player to empty the whole box wins.

Materials Needed: balloons

How to Play:

Blow up a bunch of balloons and have guests take turns to see who can shove the most balloons in their clothing (under a shirt, in pants, anywhere). Don’t forget to take some hilarious pictures of your pregnant guests.


30- Blowing Baby Kisses

Active/competitive – Race

Material Needed: golf balls, ball syringes, masking tape

How to Play:

For this game, you’ll need 1 golf ball and 1 ball syringe for each contestant and a long hallway or table. Prepare the golf balls by imprinting a kiss on each golf ball with lipstick. Contestants will have to use the ball syringe to “blow” their “kiss” to the finish line. The first one to cross the line wins.


31- Diaper Stack

Materials Needed: diapers

How to Play:

In this super simple game, each guest tries to stack the tallest diaper tower in one minute without it toppling down.


32- Separation Anxiety

Race – Minute to win it

Materials Needed: m&ms, bowls

How to Play:

Give each participant a bowl of m&m’s and 6 other bowls each labeled with one of the m&m colors. The idea is for each player to separate the m&m’s by color into the bowls… in order. And they may only use one hand. After a minute is up, the contestant who went through the order the most times wins!


33- Rush Delivery

Hilarious to watch – Great for co-ed showers

Materials Needed: 2 laundry baskets and balloons or 2 buckets and water balloons

How to Play:

This game is played in a relay fashion. Split the players into 2 equal teams. Each player in turn puts a balloon (or water balloon) in between their legs and wobble across to drop or “deliver” the baby into the laundry basket (or bucket) without using their hands. The first team to get all their babies delivered wins. 

If you use the regular balloons, you’ll soon realize that dropping them may be hard as they will gain static electricity, and if you use water balloons, make sure to be outside as they may pop in route!
