Printable North Pole Elf Workshop Ideas for Christmas

Your elf has a big job at the North Pole this year!

I’m talking twinkle lights to fix, packages to scan, gifts to wrap, and a weather report to give.

These printable North Pole elf workshop ideas make all of it happen, and trust me, your kids are gonna love it.

Every scene is packed with perfectly sized printed pieces, so your elf’s workshop looks rich and full of detail.

And of course it works with whichever doll you have, the official Elf on the Shelf or any of the other versions.

If you let your kids touch the elves, oh my goodness, imagine the fun!

They can scan packages like real North Pole inspectors, fix twinkle lights, and give their own weather report.

I’m a homeschool mom at heart, so I’m especially excited about the weather scene, because it sneaks science in while they’re having fun.

Best of all, everything is reusable, so the workshop can come back next Christmas.

What Is an Elf Workshop?

An elf workshop is a miniature North Pole scene where your elf gets to work.

Print it, cut it, assemble it, and park your elf right in the middle of the action!

Every workshop has lots of printed pieces, like signs, boxes, tags, and props, so the scene feels rich and real.

Christmas Light Repair Shop

Tangled lights? Your elf has it handled!

This shop is all about keeping the North Pole twinkling.

A miniature North Pole Christmas Lights Repair Shop playset featuring an elf at a desk, boxes for lights, and signs labeled β€œLight Testing Station” and β€œTo Be Fixed.”

Your elf sits right behind the counter, under the Christmas Lights Repair Shop sign.

There’s a “We Fix Twinkles” sign on the front, a Light Testing Station sign, and a “To Be Fixed” box.

Finished lights go in the “Repaired” box.

Little tags say “Inspected & Tested by Elf.”

I added a couple of colored LED fairy lights for the full effect.

And here’s the best part: the replacement light boxes really open!

Tuck in real replacement lights, and let your kids discover them.

North Pole Weather Station

Time for the North Pole forecast!

This is the scene my homeschool mom heart loves most.

An elf toy sits next to a β€œNorth Pole Weather Station” sign with movable dials for temperature, snow depth, and chance of snow, accompanied by a weather desk and observation form.

Your elf stands at a wall of dials, with a Weather Desk in front.

The dials track the weather.

Before you print, you can move the red arrows in Canva so they point wherever you want.

That means you can match the weather in your own area.

A printed worksheet showing five separate weather maps for different continents, each labeled with high and low-pressure systems and wind direction arrows.

Next up are the maps.

Choose maps from your area of the world, so the forecast feels personal.

A printed β€œWeather Observations” log sheet with blank fields for meteorologist, date, forecast, temperature, chance of snow, snow depth, and observations.

There’s also a full-size Weather Observations sheet.

It has spaces for the forecast, temperature, chance of snow, snow depth, and observations.

It’s science, disguised as Christmas fun!

Five illustrated weather cards featuring a sun, snowflake, clouds, and a sun behind a cloud, alongside an observation card with blank lines and weather icons.

The forecast cards finish off the scene.

They show sun, clouds, and snow, plus an observations card.

Package Scanner

Every package at the North Pole gets scanned before it goes anywhere!

An elf doll sits next to a toy β€œNorth Pole Package Scanner” and miniature shipping boxes labeled β€œTo Scan” and β€œNorth Pole Parcel Sorting.”

Your elf runs the scanner arch, with a “To Scan” bin and a “Cleared” bin on one side.

A “North Pole Parcel Sorting” sign sits out front.

Kids can pretend to scan each package and move it from one bin to the next.

Up close, you can see the big red scan button and the scan status lights.

The packages look wrapped, and they even have Santa stamps, so they feel like real North Pole parcels.

Gift Wrap Control Station

Every gift counts, and your elf makes sure each one looks perfect!

An elf figurine sits at an β€œElf Inspection” station surrounded by boxes of gift wrap and a β€œNorth Pole Gift-Wrap Quality Control” sign.

The station has an Elf Inspection desk, with an “Awaiting Inspection” bin on one side and a “Gift Wrap” bin on the other.

A Quality Check card with checkboxes for Seam Straight, Tape Secure, Bow Fluffy, Ribbon Centered, and Overall Finish, resting on a miniature gift box.

The Quality Check list keeps everyone on track: seam straight, tape secure, bow fluffy, ribbon centered, overall finish.

An elf toy sits at an β€œElf Inspection” station behind a β€œNorth Pole Gift-Wrap Quality Control” sign, holding a checklist next to a wrapped gift.

Set up your own gift wrap station alongside the elf, and teach your kids how to properly wrap a box.

Then let them check the list, just like the elf.

There are even little rolls of wrapping paper in the bin.

How to Set Up Your Elf Workshop

Each template opens in the free version of Canva and prints on letter size or A4 cardstock.

Print it out, then spend some time in front of the TV cutting and folding all the elements.

Each background comes with braces, so it stands upright.

Want your signs to stand out? Use foam dots to add them for more of a 3D effect.

The desk is the same in the gift wrap, light repair, and weather scenes, so you only swap the sign.

Kids will love the elf name tag, so change the name to your elf’s name.

All of those fun details make it exciting!

elf workshop faqs

What is an elf workshop?

An elf workshop is a mini North Pole scene where your elf gets to work. Each one has printed signs, boxes, tags, and props that you print, cut out, and assemble. Then you add your own elf doll and let the fun begin!

Can I use these with any elf doll?

Yes! They work with whichever doll you have, the official Elf on the Shelf or any of the other versions. The doll is not included, so just bring your own elf.

What do I need to make the scenes?

You need a free Canva account, white cardstock, and a printer. Use 8.5″ x 11″ or A4 cardstock, 80 to 110 lb. A color inkjet printer works great, or you can print at an office store. For cutting, use scissors, a craft knife, a paper trimmer, or a punch. Foam dots are optional, but they add fun texture.

Can I change the wording and the elf’s name?

Yes! The wording is editable in Canva, including the elf name tag. Just type your elf’s name over the sample name. The graphics can’t be changed, but you can choose the weather maps to fit your area of the world. You can also move the red arrows on the weather station before you print.

Are the printables reusable?

Yes, and I love that part! Pack up your workshop after Christmas and bring it back next year. You can also print as many copies as you need for personal use.

How do I print and assemble an elf workshop?

Download the PDF and click the link to open the design in Canva. Choose “Use Template,” type over the sample text, and save. Print on cardstock, cut out the pieces, and follow the instructions inside the design. Want more texture? Add foam dots. Want it simple? Print the background with the signs already on it.
