Cute Halloween Ghost Craft with Dollar Tree Supplies

When I saw a reel featuring this adorable Halloween ghost craft, I knew I had to make one myself!

So off I went to Dollar Tree, where I grabbed all the supplies to create my own version.

Spoiler alert: they turned out amazing!

With a hanging ghost decoration, a metal paper towel bar, and a few cute add-ons, I created the sweetest little ghost that’s perfect for Halloween decor.

An adorable ghost Halloween craft made from Dollar Tree items, featuring a white sheet draped over an object with black felt eyes, holding a green pumpkin and a black lantern. Bold text reads: "Adorable! Ghost Craft w. Dollar Tree Items". The background shows mesh netting.

The best part? Each one costs only $4 to $5, depending on what extra decorations you grab! Plus, the hanging ghost decoration is something Dollar Tree carries every year, so you should have no trouble finding it.

This craft also gives you all the room to get creative. I’ve even seen people replace the sheet with a baby blanket or have their ghost holding a disco ball. No rules here, just a fun way to make your home Halloween-ready!

Dollar Tree Ghost Materials

Have fun going through the aisle for something cute for your ghost to hold.

A table holds materials for a Halloween craft project: a soft fabric pumpkin, a black lantern with a candle inside, a white fabric with a ghost face design, a piece of black felt, a pair of scissors, and a felt piece with a price tag. "Press Print Party!" is in the corner.
  • Dollar Tree Ghost hanging decoration (with a foam head and posable arms)
  • Metal paper towel holder
  • Small lantern or other cute Halloween props (like pumpkins or treat bags)
  • Black adhesive felt
  • Optional: hot glue gun

I already had adhesive felt on hand, and while I couldn’t find it at my Dollar Tree, you can easily use a regular felt sheet and attach it with hot glue. It works just as well!

Ghost Halloween Craft Directions

1- Prep the Ghost Frame

Start by detaching the foam head and posable arms from the ghost’s sheet. Then, cut the string from the top of the head—it’s time to transform this ghost into something cute!

2. Create the Ghost’s Frame

Insert the foam head about an inch deep onto the metal paper towel holder. This will give your ghost a sturdy frame. The head of the ghost should sit nice and sturdy on the holder. If you’re worried about stability, you can use a bit of hot glue to hold everything in place, but I personally didn’t bother—no glue gun necessary here! The ghost form works perfectly without it.

A simple paper towel stand with a white foam head and foam-padded wire arms displayed on a wooden surface against a dark background. The writing "Press Print Party!" is lightly visible at the bottom left corner.

3. Drape the Sheet Back On

A person draped in a white sheet resembles a ghost, sitting with an eerie backdrop decorated with black spider webs, bats, and a smiling ghost. The scene evokes a Halloween theme.

Flip the ghost sheet over so the spooky face is hidden. Drape the sheet back over the foam head, but make sure the ghost’s face is in the back. Now, instead of an eerie ghost, you’ll have a cute white sheet ghost ready to come to life! You could use some other white piece of fabric you have at home too. I’ve even seen someone go all out with a pink baby blanket for a totally non-spooky Halloween craft!

4. Add the Eyes

A hand holding orange-handled scissors is seen cutting through black felt fabric and brown paper. The background has a wooden texture. Text in the upper right corner reads "Press Print Party!.

Cut out two large, cute oval eyes from the black sticky felt. Peel off the sticky side and attach them to the ghost’s body. The felt should adhere easily to the fabric, no need for hot glue (unless you’re feeling extra secure). These eyes are what take the ghost from spooky to super cute in a snap.

5. Add Fun Accessories

A ghost costume made of white fabric with black oval eyes, holding a black lantern with a small light. To the right of the ghost is a small, decorative green pumpkin. The background is dark, with a wooden surface underneath the costume and props.

Rearrange the ghost’s arms to hold whatever fun props you picked up and get creative! I added a small lantern to one hand, but you could also use a tiny trick-or-treat bag, a mini pumpkin, or any other Halloween prop you love. I’ve even seen ghosts holding disco balls—anything goes!

6. Final Touches (Optional)

Two individuals dressed as ghosts with white sheets and black eye cutouts. One ghost holds a green-handled, pumpkin-shaped candy basket, and the other holds a lantern and a plush pumpkin. A textured floor and black backdrop complete the Halloween-themed setup.

If you want, you can use a hot glue gun to secure everything, but I kept mine easy to take apart and store for next year. With these easy steps, you’ll have a cute little ghost that’s perfect for Halloween decor—and you can switch it up year after year!
