It’s getting close to Easter and Peeps are taking over over the world, one fluffy marshmallow chick at a time. And with that invasion comes a flood of fun Easter Peeps ideas just begging to be tried.
From Easter Peeps decor to party-ready treats, there’s no shortage of fun ways to put those sugar-coated bunnies and chicks to good use.
Whether or not they’re your favorite Easter candy (my kids eat one and leave the rest to fossilize on the counter—every. single. year.) , you can’t deny they’ve become a staple of spring celebrations.

Perfect for adding some extra fun to your Easter sunday, along with tons of other Easter party ideas you’ll find right here on the blog.
Let’s turn those squishy little critters into something fabulous!
A (Surprisingly Sweet) Little History of Peeps
Did you know Peeps have been peepin’ around for over 70 years?
Yep, those squishy, sugar-dusted marshmallow critters have a longer legacy than you might think.
They hatched (pun fully intended) way back in 1953, when the Just Born candy company—based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania—acquired the Rodda Candy Company, a small business that handmade marshmallow chicks.
Back then, each Peep was piped by hand and took over 24 hours to create! (Can you imagine waiting that long for one marshmallow?)
But Just Born wasn’t having it—they mechanized the process and cut production time down to six minutes flat. That’s how the mass production magic began.
While yellow chicks were the original OGs, bunnies and pastel colors joined the lineup over time, followed by an explosion of seasonal varieties—from spooky Halloween Peeps to festive Christmas trees.
Love them or lovingly avoid them, Peeps are now a full-blown pop culture icon.
