Our homeschool group put together such a beautiful and inspirational mother daughter date event this year that I wanted to share and give you ideas for your own fun mother daughter activities.
I know how many hours can go into planning one of these events and we all appreciated the dedicated super moms who took this task on and executed it flawlessly.
The “Beautiful inside and out” theme was just the right kind of positive message we all want our girls to be encouraged by.
This awesome event consisted in part of some lovely mom-daughter(s) time eating, shopping, making customized charm necklaces for each other, and taking pictures at the photo booth.
The decorations were all faithfully made by hand. I especially loved the big frame perched on the food table. The burlap backing, flowers, and message tied perfectly into the theme of the event. It’d be the perfect inspirational decor to add to a little girl’s room.
For the shopping time – a must for any self respecting mother daughter date, – each person brought 3 fun girly items to add the “stores” tables. Then, we each got 3 tickets and were able to get one item from each of the tables, one at a time. What fun it was choosing from an array of jewelry, scarves, headbands, and accessories. Of course, in perfect tween fashion, one of my girls had to retrieve an item we brought because she just had to have it.
A local artist made the gorgeous inspirational wooden signs that were raffled at the end of the day. If you love them as much as I did, you can find her on Instagram at @allshewrote.
Each table’s centerpiece gave us all a glimpse of what more fun was to come. Every table had a tree branch stuck in a stone-filled mason jar and adorned with ribbons, chains, and blank charms.
Another table held more charms to add to our creations.
Stools doubled as stations containing letter punches to spell out a special word on the charm representative of the recipient.
I chose 3 words per daughter and let them determine which one they wanted on their necklace. One chose “Sweet” and the other “Honest”. For me, they both decided on “Creative”, which is high praise from such creative kiddos.
The day ended with a flurry of picture-taking at the photo booth. I was genuinely impressed by the amazing background crafted with a multitude of colorful cut fabric ribbons tied in front of a whiteboard.
All in all, a wonderful day crafted by beautiful ladies with fabulous company. I will always cherish my necklace with a word chosen by my sweet girls as a favorite reminder of that day.
I hope you’ve found some mother, daughter date ideas and activities in this post and that I’ve motivated you to put together an inspirational mom-daughter date group event of your own.
This is an awesome idea! Just out of curiosity, what kinds of foods did you serve?
We only had drinks, desserts, and fruit if I recall correctly. It was an afternoon party.
Sorry another question, where did y’all find the charms, and necklaces? I’m thinking of doing this for a mother/daughter event with an extremely tight budget. Thanks!
