FAQs

How long do homemade fortune cookies last?

While it’s tempting to devour them all at once, if stored properly, homemade fortune cookies can stay fresh for up to a week. But let’s be honestโ€”they’re so tasty, they might not make it past day two!

How to store homemade fortune cookies

To keep your fortune cookies crisp and delightful, place them in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid humidity and moisture, as they can make the cookies lose their signature crunch. But with treats this good, storage might not even be an issue!

Can I customize the fortunes inside?

Absolutely! One of the best parts of making your own fortune cookies is personalizing the messages inside. Whether it’s an inside joke, a heartfelt note, or a fun prediction, the sky’s the limit.

Is it possible to add flavors or colors to the cookies?

Yes! You can experiment by adding different extracts like almond or lemon for varied flavors. A few drops of food coloring can also give your cookies a festive look. Just remember, a little goes a long way!

Why are my fortune cookies turning out soft instead of crispy?

If your cookies are soft, they might be underbaked. Ensure they’re golden brown around the edges before removing them from the oven.
