I could have easily picked up a bunch of generic favor bags from the store, but where’s the fun in that?
Plus, I wanted to allocate my budget towards the magical goodies inside rather than the paper bags themselves. I almost made these cool broomstick party bags, but in the end, I decided to get crafty and designed my own printable favor bags.
My bags have a charming antique style, featuring a stylized version of the famous Hogwarts castle, adding an extra touch of magic.
The size is just right—not too big to be cumbersome, and not too small to skimp on the treats. Best of all, they print on a single sheet of letter-sized paper, making them super convenient and cost-effective.
For our party, I used the version that says “Thank you for coming,” which added a nice personal touch.
When I added this design to my shop, I included an additional customizable version so you can add the names of your guests if you wish.
It’s a little detail that can make a big difference, and it’s perfect for making each guest feel like they’ve received their own special piece of the wizarding world.
For one low price, you can print and assemble as many as you need, making them a budget-friendly option for any party size.
Plus, they are quick and easy to make, so you won’t need to spend hours crafting each one.
With these printable favor bags, you’ll have more time and money to focus on filling them with delightful, non-junky treats that any Harry Potter fan would love to receive.
Fun and Unique Harry Potter Favors
For our Harry Potter party, I put together some fantastic and unique favors that the teens absolutely loved. I did my shopping about a month or so early so I was able to get some good deals from Aliexpress. I recommend checking out my 5 best party on a budget tips for saving money.
So here’s what I included in each favor bag:
Wand Pencils
I found these magical pencils at a great price on AliExpress. They were an instant hit and added a touch of enchantment to the bags. I also gave one pencil to each team as they went about their wizard scavenger hunt.
Golden Snitches
Teens love key chains, and these golden snitch key chains were no exception. They were another budget-friendly find on AliExpress and brought a bit of the Quidditch magic to the mix.
Hedwig Bookmarks
I discovered a beautiful free printable on DeviantArt for these bookmarks featuring everyone’s favorite snowy owl, they were a charming and practical addition. I shortened it a bit to fit in the bag but it worked great. The free download also has a variety of other owl bookmarks you can print.
Harry Potter Stickers
A trip to my local Walmart yielded some fantastic Harry Potter stickers. Perfect for decorating notebooks, phones, or anything else that could use a touch of wizardry.
Harry Potter Glasses
Yes, these are cheap and dorky but I just couldn’t resist. I put them on the table as the guests arrived so they could wear them during the party. At the end of the party, I added them to the bags of the guests who couldn’t make it so we could hand them out later. They also came with a lightning bolt scar tattoo that several guests took advantage of.
Honeydukes Chocolate
No party favor bag would be complete without a sweet treat. I wrapped a couple of Hershey minis in Honeydukes chocolate wrappers, which you can download for free from my Free Download Library. My free printables are for personal use only.
These favors were not only fun and magical, but also practical and budget-friendly. Each item was thoughtfully chosen to ensure that it wouldn’t just be tossed aside but would be cherished by any Harry Potter fan.
The combination of these unique items made our party favor bags a huge success, leaving our guests with a memorable token of a magical evening.
Other Harry Potter Favor Ideas
Looking for more magical Harry Potter goodie bag ideas? Look no further! Here are some other budget-friendly ideas I came up with during my research of all things Harry Potter that you could consider:
Handmade magic wands
Get crafty and make your own wands using wooden chopsticks, a hot glue gun, and some colorful paint. It’s an easy craft that would make a great addition to your goody bags.
Homemade Chocolate Frogs
What’s a Harry Potter party without these iconic treats? I made chocolate frogs for the dessert table but they would make amazing favors too. The chocolate frog box template is available as a free printable on Instructables, and making them with dark chocolate melts with a chocolate candy mold is a breeze.
Jelly Beans
I had an idea to make more mini Bertie Botts boxes and add them to the favor bags but just ran out of time. You could make a mini or full size box for everyone and fill it with regular Jelly Beans for a fun treat. I got my Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans template for free on DeviantArt.
Full Size Honeydukes Chocolate Bars
I wrapped Hershey’s minis with a Honeydukes wrapper I made but you could also wrap full-sized bars. You can find the Honeydukes Milk Chocolate Wrapper free online also.
Grigott bank coins
Wrap chocolate coins in a mesh bag or a bank of Gringott’s bag for a quick and easy favor. You could put them in a special Gingott’s Bank favor bag too.
Potion Bottle Necklaces
Fill mini glass bottles with colored water to resemble potions and add a necklace chain. With a miniature label which you can make with my Harry Potter potion labels, these wearable potions would make a fantastic party favor.
