Bird’s Nest Cookies Ingredients
- 16 oz chocolate candy melt
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 – 6 oz package crispy chow mein noodles (or pretzels or coconut)
- 1 package Cadbury mini Eggs candies
Step by Step Instructions
- Prepare your baking pan – Spray a mini-muffin pan with a light layer of cooking spray. Line with a sheet of plastic wrap (the cooking spray keeps the plastic wrap in place), and press the plastic wrap into each cavity. Set aside.
- In a large microwavable bowl, melt the chocolate candy for 30 seconds at a time until smooth. Should take about 2 – 2:30 minutes.
- Add in the creamy peanut butter and stir until smooth.
- Add in the chow mein (or pretzels, coconut – whatever you prefer) and stir to coat.
- Measure out about a tablespoon’s worth of the chocolate mixture into each cavity of the muffin tin. Arrange the chow mein noodles so that they are sticking up and out of the tin to create more of a “nest” look.
- Before the chocolate sets up, place the egg candies in the center of the nest and gently press to stick into place. Allow the nests to set up for approximately 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Carefully pull up on the plastic wrap to gently remove the nests from the muffin tin.
You may want to place the little nests on parchment paper or wax paper on your serving tray to keep the chocolate from sticking to the plate.
Storage: Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week at room temperature.

Bird’s Nest Cookies Faqs
What can I use instead of chow mein noodles?
Chow mein noodles are great crispy noodles but you can use pretzel sticks or make more of a macaroon cookie with shredded coconut.
What other flavors are available?
Candy melts come in a variety of colors and flavors, you could use any of them. There’s nothing that says your bird’s nest can’t be colorful or even made with white chocolate!
You can also add flavored chips to the mix like mint chips, butterscotch chips, or milk chocolate chips.
Can I use regular chocolate chips?
Yes but keep in mind that semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips don’t melt as well as candy melts.
What kinds of eggs can I use?
During the Easter season you may find all kinds of cute eggs at the store, just buy the ones that look good to you. You also don’t have to use chocolate eggs, you could substitute them with Jelly beans.
